What do we the Governors do?
The governing body makes important decisions about the way the school is run.
Finance and Staffing
- Interviewing and appointing staff
- Agreeing the school's budget and monitoring expenditure
Curriculum
- Making sure the National Curriculum is taught (and that the needs of all pupils, including those with additional needs are met)
- Agreeing targets for pupil performance and monitoring standards in the school.
Inclusion
- Monitoring the progress of all pupils and all of the Intervention Strategies for pupils with additional needs.
Buildings and Health and Safety
- Maintaining high standards of security, safety and cleanliness throughout the school site.
- Programming the ongoing maintenance of all school buildings to ensure our children have access to a quality learning environment.
How are Parent Governors elected?
Parent Governors are elected by the parents and provide an important link between parents/carers.
