What are the special educational needs procedures?

All children share the right to a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum. We acknowledge that for some children gaining access to this curriculum can only be achieved by taking additional measures on their behalf.

We are committed to the equality of entitlement for all children and we recognise that meeting children's individual learning and behavioural needs is crucial to our school effectiveness. The Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, Gail Guest, works with children, parents, teachers, teaching assistants and outside agencies to achieve this.

We seek to meet the needs of every child and therefore operate a range of intervention strategies to support individual and group learning.

In exceptional circumstances a child will need a Statement of Educational Needs, and will need to be provided with appropriate resources and support from the School Educational Psychologist. The school has a comprehensive SEN policy, copies of which can be requested from the office.
