What are the arrangements for Reception children?

When do reception children start school?

Reception children who are due to start school the following September will receive an invitation with their parents/carers to meet the class teacher in June. We hope this meeting will be a friendly and an inviting introduction to our school. You will be able to discuss any issues that you feel are important.

The children will be invited to join the class on another two occasions before the end of the summer term when their parents/carers may stay if they wish. At present we have 10 children on roll to start in September but we have places for a further 30 children.

How ofter do reception children attend school?

Reception children spend their first four weeks attending school on a part-time basis. They will attend school either for two weeks in the morning and then two weeks in the afternoon or the other way around. They will also have the opportunity to stay for a lunchtime session the week before they begin full time education.

What are reception children taught?
