Dear Parents and Carers

The phone call has been made and we will be receiving our 3rd Inspection of this year from Ofsted.

Mr Sanderson is coming next Wednesday and Thursday with a colleague Mr Nye to assess how much improvement the school has made.

I am very pleased with the progress we have made this year since we were placed in Special Measures a year ago.  The standards of children's work, attitude and behaviour has improved rapidly and although we can get even better we should be very proud of our achievement.

If everything goes well next week Mr Sanderson may remove the school from Special Measures which would be a world record and fantastic for the community of Upper Horfield.

So let's put everything into next week.  Prepare your children well for school (as you do!)  If any parent wishes to speak to Mr Sanderson to express your views (hopefully supportive) then that will be good and help us a great deal.

During the week Harry went to Blaise School for 2 days Sports Gifted and Talented.  He entered several races and came 3rd.  Harry found the days very tiring but good fun. Well done Harry.

Year 6 went to Monks Park School on Friday morning where they looked at African Masks.  Over the next few weeks they will be going again and making their own masks which we look forward to seeing.

Bristol's Biggest Bike Ride

Miss Nolan, Charlie and Sean (Y6) took part in Bristol's Biggest Bike Ride on Sunday.  The route they cycled was 9 miles long and about 5,000 people took part.  The School has completed a Travel Plan and is providing cycle training.  We will receive funding in the coming year to provide cycle parking at school.
