Dear Parents and Carers,

 

We are pleased to welcome Miss Wilson and Mr Reeves who will be starting their teacher training week placement next week.

Miss Wilson will be teaching Year 2 and Mr Reeves will be teaching Year 5. They have already been in for some introductory days.  Please come and say hello if you have not already met them. 

 

Learning

On Tuesday Year 5 and Year 6 enjoyed lunchtime rugby Club.

On Wednesday children from Y5 and Y6 enjoyed an after school learning club at Bristol Rovers FC. Next week they will be going on a harbourside tour with Pirate Pete to learn about the history of Bristol. 
 

Teaching Training

On Monday Mrs Hayes attended CAF training. 
 

International Links

We have been successful in a bid to set up a link with New Delhi in

India. We will be working with Orchard Academy, St Theresa’s,

Fonthill and a number of schools in New Delhi to help the children develop their global citizenship.

School Choir Report

On Tuesday 26th January the Upper Horfield School Choir went to Horfield

C of E to meet their choir. We enjoyed singing lovely songs about flight. Our

favourite song was “Those Magnificent Men”. When we

arrived we also enjoyed some biscuits and juice. We would like to say thank you to Mr Seddon and Miss Hayes.

ESOL Family Health

A free class is being held at UHCT Community Centre.

The course will help you understand:

How to make appointments with different health professionals.

How healthy you and your family are.

How to make healthy changes to your diet and lifestyle.

Home safety tips to stay safe.
