REMEMBER!    EDUCATION MUST BE VALUED.    WE ALL HAVE A DUTY TO GIVE OUR YOUNG PEOPLE THE BEST START IN LIFE.

January 22nd

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to all your generous support of the Table Top Sale we have already raised over £118.30 towards the Haiti Earthquake Appeal. Thank you Y6 and Mr Seddon for organising this.

Uniforms

The children are looking really smart and ready for learning in their uniforms. Thank you to all the parents who have made so much effort.

A reminder for the few children who need it!

White or blue shirt or polo shirt

Navy jumper

Black or grey trousers or skirt

Black shoes or boots

These items are available easily in supermarkets and high street shops. Jumpers with the school logo on are available from National School Wear at 22 Gloucester Road North.

Learning outside the classroom

On Wednesday the school choir from Horfield C of E came to sing in our assembly. We will be working with them over the next few months to build up our new school choir. We have already been invited to sing on Concord in February!

KS1 Choir – Wednesday lunchtimes

KS2 Choir – Thursday afterschool

Also on Wednesday children from Y5 and Y6 enjoyed an afterschool learning club at Bristol Rovers.

Staff

We are pleased to welcome Ms Louis as our new School Meals Supervisor. We still have a vacancy for another lunchtime supervisor. If you are interested, and have 2 good references, please contact Mrs Dykes in the office.

Swimming

We have worked very hard to ensure children from Y1 – Y6 are able to go swimming. If children are well enough to be in school, they are well enough to go swimming, unless they have a Doctors note.

The class teacher and Teaching Assistant go swimming with the class and children left behind disturb the flow of teaching and learning in other classes. Thank you for you co-operation in this matter.

ESOL for Health – Begins Friday 29th January at Upper Horfield
