Dear Parents/Carers,
PUFFER FISH
As you know things are getting really busy in Puffer Fish as lots of new children have come to join us. Due to this we have decided to split the rooms up depending on age.
The carpet room is now called: ‘RAINBOW FISH ROOM’
Rakeem, Nesta, Joseph C, Joseph B, Isla, Tyreece, Alice, Jozef, Danica, Ellie and Adara are now all Rainbow Fish and will spend most of their play in the carpet room.
The wet room will remain the Puffer Fish Room
Max, Ryan, Jacob, Rakhin, Grace, Jai, Cameron, Shanaya, Declan and Alexander are Puffer Fish.
Please take your child to their room when you drop them off and collect them from there also.
Due to these changes your child’s Key Worker may also change. Please see Kerrie to find out if your's has changed.
Puffer Fish and Rainbow Fish will continue to work very closely together and you will consistently see the same practitioners on a daily basis.
We also have appointed a new member of qualified staff. Louise has 2 years experience and shone through with passion and enthusiasm for our youngest children. We know she will love our little gang.
In reflection of feedback from parents/carers, we now have a signing list which we ask you to sign when you have received your monthly newsletter. This just helps us to keep communicating effectively with you.
We are planning to have some informal meetings with you to review and celebrate your child’s learning and development. We think it would be easier for you if we meet near the end of your child’s sessions when you collect. Please see Kerrie to choose your date and time.
We are still collecting for Heuristic play and we need the following please:
* Pegs (Wooden and plastic)
*Wooden spoons and utensils
*Materials
...........or anything else you think the children would find interesting from around the room.
We are also going to have more pegs soon for your children’s coats and bags. We apologise if you do not have one. We do appreciate your patience.
Please remember that your ideas and concerns are very important to us. We are always keen to hear how you feel we are getting on.
Thanks again for all your support.
Puffer Fish and Rainbow Fish.
CORAL ROOM
Thank you to those who contributed to Red Nose Day by wearing red or buying biscuits.
A big thank you to parents who are contributing to any observation and feedback from home which contributes to practitioners' studies whilst they are at college or university.
The last few weeks children have been interested in the stories of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears and Jack and Beanstalk. If your child has a favourite story from home they could bring it in and share it with us.
Thank you to parents/carers for contributing to the ‘Interest Sheets’ on the notice board each week. This really helps us on plan further appropriate experience.
Seahorse Room (Community Room)
The groups in Seahorse are getting bigger every week. On Tuesdays in Play and Stay we are running a PPEL course until the end of March. Parents and carers are borrowing cameras, and taking photos of their homes and families. Bring them into the sessions and making beautiful games, puzzles and books. Rachel the speech therapist will also be attending. If you would like to speak to her please come along.
Dads' Group
Toby Roberts is coming in on Tuesday afternoons to help set up a Dads'group. If you are interested in learning how to download photos onto the computer and make games etc., please feel free to speak to us. We hope to start after Easter.
Post Natal Group
We are soon to be running a post natal group on a Monday afternoon for Mums and Dads with small babies. It will be a 6 weekly programme; at the end of the six weeks they will be able to join our Baby PEEP sessions on a Monday morning.
The Children’s Centre has recently made a partnership with the SWADA at Filton College. This is very exciting for us as a dance teacher and her students will be coming in to introduce dance with the children. We will also be able to go to the college and get some insight of how shows are established. The first of our visits is Wednesday April 1st at 1.30. We will be able to watch the students rehearse songs and dances of their production ‘Guys and Dolls’. This will be less than an hour long without the public, and will give the children a wonderful opportunity to go to a theatre. If you would like to come with us as a group we are catching the bus from the Children’s Centre at 1.00 p.m. Sign up if you would like to attend. At a later date we can go again and join in with the singing, dancing and perhaps stage makeup!!
Easter is approaching, the community room will be closed for all groups over the 2 week break, except for an Easter Extravaganza on the Tuesday April 7th. Do hope you can all attend. We will have an egg hunt, make baskets and cards etc.
We still want books for our book sale, - please hand them into Pam.
Thank you for all the money we collected on Friday for Red Nose day. We collected £147.39 for another needy cause.
