Are children given homework?
To increase children's learning and to encourage their independence and sense of responsibility, Upper Horfield Community School has a homework policy which recommends the following daily commitment:
Reception: 10 minutes
Year 3 / 4: 25 minutes
Year 5 / 6: 30 minutes
Sharing reading books with parents and carers, practising spelling lists and letter formation, learning addition, subtraction and multiplication facts, completing work from classroom time and researching topic work at home, are some ways in which pupils levels of attainment can be improved.
Please help us by ensuring your child returns his/her homework each week.
