Term 1

This term, children in Class 4/5SH will be studying 'Space'.

We will be looking at our Solar System, studying the other planets, and investigating the history of manned space flight.

Our Science work will also involve investigations into the apparent movement of the sun across the sky, and why the Moon appears to change shape.

We will be writing space stories, making up plays and poems, and writing newspaper reports.

Our design technology work will be to make space scenes in shoe boxes, which will mean children bringing in an empty shoe box please, a good excuse to treat your children to a new pair of shoes!

We will also look at different ideas about how the Universe was created.
